Since 2014, Phoenix Orphanage Organization<\/strong> has been taking care of neglected and vulnerable children in Zigoti<\/strong>, a small town of approximately 6000 inhabitants in the center of Uganda. Their goal is to provide these young people with a home, food, medical care, and access to an education, since their parents have died, disappeared, or are too sick or poor to do so themselves.\u00a0Currently 41 children and young adults between the ages of 4 and 17 are being supported by the NGO.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n [\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n Phoenix Orphanage Organization<\/strong> is primarily utilizing existing structures in town as well as involving the local community in their daily work. All children are enrolled in primary and secondary schools within the county, where they receive lunch and are being looked after during the day. In addition, the organization has partnered with a local doctor, who checks the everybody\u2019s health on a regular basis.\u00a0In order to avoid long distances for time and safety reasons, the organization is currently renting rooms within walking distance of the schools.
